JOB-HOPPERS NO MORE

HAVE PEOPLE BEEN CALLING YOU A JOB-HOPPER FOR THE WRONG REASONS?

This word apparently comes with a lot of negative connotations, but what if we recognize the fact that a majority of people keep changing jobs to find more fulfillment, passion, and growth!?

Then what is a job-hopper identified as? Simply, as a person that isn’t obsessed with following society’s expectations but rather chooses to explore what other options are available out there.

SO, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

The problem begins when everyone around you interprets the fact that you’re exploring more options as a negative trait. Sometimes we choose to make changes subconsciously in search of all these qualities referred to above. When you can’t really define why you’re making some changes, then unfortunately the reasons you are doing it are open to each person’s interpretation.

Why is this a negative thing you may ask?  Because that’s when other peoples’ stories and beliefs about you and who you are, become louder than your own. Maybe this doesn’t make sense to you if this is the first time you’re consciously thinking about the beliefs you have formed about yourself over the years. Have you ever paused to think if the beliefs about yourself are aligned with who you really are or if they have been formed by some past experiences or what other people assume about you over the years?

When we are exposed to any opinion over a long period of time we don’t even realize that this is happening, This can happen to any aspect of life not just in our work lives. To go back to our main topic, if you have been changing jobs and career paths in search of more passion, fulfillment, creativity, more financial and personal control then please do yourself a favor and stop accepting the identity of a job-hopper. Instead, use the below exercises to create some real changes from this point on.

EXERCISES

1. Write down the first 3 main beliefs you have about yourself and are probably causing some negativity in your life. Make at least one of them about your professional life.

2. Go back to these 3 beliefs and see if they are empowering you to move forward in life. If one or all of them aren’t serving you anymore, literally delete them and replace them with 3 new beliefs that will be your best allies to go forward.

Devote as much time needed to complete this task, and you will see how liberating it will be.

Don’t let more time go by without acting on your dreams and goals.  Create your story from the beginning if you have to. It’s never too late and we are never too old to start anew.

If you are happy with where you are at in life, then that’s alright. But if you feel you can relate to that feeling, act now and create the life you’ve been dreaming about. For me, the solution came by creating an online business around what I’m more passionate about and now I just can’t stand not sharing the things that have helped me move forward and create the life I deserve.
